In an exciting period of growth we are looking for a Linux Systems Engineers with Satellite experience.
Job Purpose
Linux Systems Engineers establish our clients computer system technology standards, directions and guidelines for the hardware and operating system software. They test, certify and release the HW/OS standards for use across the enterprise. They interface with the development, QA, support and business groups to determine the HW/SW profile required to meet application requirements.
Suitable candidates for these roles should have somewhere between 4+ years + experience working in Information Technology. 3 of those in a Systems Engineering role. Outstanding knowledge of the Linux OS with at least 2 years experience working with RedHat's version and wide ranging experience of related technologies with the ability to design and document to the highest standards.
Successful candidates will have a sound understanding of technology with the ability to learn and recommend on new technologies if required to do so.
Key Accountabilities
* Work with vendors to understand product roadmaps and technology direction
* Develop hardware and operating system standards for global enterprise
* Work with development and business to determine product requirements and specify the correct solution to meet the product needs.
* Maintain and further develop our clients usage of RedHat's Satellite infrastructure, NIS and surrounding Linux systems/services for the organization
* Responsible for maintaining the patch levels of the Linux systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Essential:
* 4+ years working in Information Technology
* Excellent knowledge and experience of RedHat Linux, Windows 2000/03/08 Active Directory and Server.
