Job Title: Enterprise Management Support Analyst
Job Purpose
This role will suit someone who has worked in a varied support role, working with lots of different applications using BMC Patrol as the key monitoring tool and smarts as the network tool.
The suitable candidate should be able to develop, test, deploy and support tools, which will provide the necessary monitoring, control and network tool sets applicable, to suit our clients various business requirements.
A formal qualification in development would be useful because 50% of the duties will be writing and supporting various object oriented scripts/code, application code and monitoring templates.
To be able to develop, test, deploy and support changes on any of the following monitoring or control systems.
Patrol Enterprise Manager V4.3.1 or above; Patrol agent. (PSL and ksh)
Key Accountabilities
The job holder will be expected to perform the following:
* Create from scratch complex patrol KM's
* Support OVPI
* Write and support complex perl scripts.
* Interface with Unix systems and windows. (Sun Solaris, Linux systems)
* Carry out software upgrades to third party software which includes PEM, Patrol, OVPI, Dorado Smarts (V7.x or V8.x) & Voyence.
* Carry out Smarts & Dorado config changes.
Essential:
Essential requirements for this role are a minimum 2 out of the 3 points.
* Exposure in a large management/monitoring environment
*Experience working with BMC Patrol agents and writing KM's using psl
*Multi threaded perl scripting.
Solid understanding of networks and using smarts network monitoring tool.
Desirable:
* Experience of programming in C, C++ or VB6 would be an advantage.
* Exposure to a large management/monitoring environment would be an advantage
* Creatively works to devise test environments and test scenarios
* Should be proficient in designing, integrating and implementing HP OV8 solutions.
