For intermediate software engineers this is an opportunity to work within one of Belfast's most successful and established players with a strong European and US client base. In this position you will work in a well established and rapidly expanding software team.
What we are looking for?
We are looking for software engineers who can build world-class applications.
In this role the successful candidate will be required to assist with the design, development and support of Windows based software applications developed in C++.
Responsibilities include:
Design and implementation of software applications
Provide innovative, robust and scalable solutions to complex technical problems
Improve, refine and refactor existing legacy applications
Assist in requirement gathering based on system specifications for new products
Assist in creation of project plans
Develop software design documentation
Provide technical support to internal and external customers
Write software user guides, manuals and any other documentation
Essential skills / experience:
A degree (or equivalent) in a computer, technical or numeric subject such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
Previous commercial experience of using one of the following programming languages:- C/C++, C# or Java
Knowledge of all stages of software development lifecycle from requirements capture through to application deployment and support
Experience of developing software based on application specifications and requirements
Evidence of customer support
Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills
Strong customer empathy and focus
Desirable skills / experience:(i.e not necessary to apply)
Experience of developing software to interact with electronic equipment or scientific instrumentation
Experience of designing and testing graphical user interfaces
Experience of Linux, Unix or embedded software development
Experience of developing unit tests
